“In every family, there is a person that breaks the cycle of poverty, I hope that person is me”

Conversational Lounge

This is a story about using adversity to fuel a passion.

On this episode, Lilly and I get real and candid about adversity, transitioning to life in the diaspora, entrepreneurship, and women empowerment.

What inspires me the most about her is how she is always seeking ways to connect women in the diaspora with investment opportunities back home.

As our conversation proceeds, she quotes a saying that goes; “In every family, there is a person that breaks the cycle of poverty, I hope that person is me” and we could not agree more!

Let us claim it!

Lily is now a founder and CEO of a beauty cosmetic company – Lavish by Lilly – and a huge networking organization for Kenyan women called – KWITU –

She speaks about her humble adjustment when she landed in a new country and what truly drove her to create an organization that could Connect, Support and Empower women.

She also delves into the story behind her cosmetic brand and what really inspired her to take the leap.

We are very inspired by Lilly’s story, as it goes to show that, if there are any parts in our lives that we do not like, we may just have what it takes to change it, but only if we tap into our untapped potentials.
